In a strategic move to enhance its creative direction, Skims has announced two significant leadership changes. The shapewear brand, co-founded by Kim Kardashian and Jens Grede in 2019, has appointed Erin Magee as its first-ever Chief Design Officer and promoted Kim Schraub to Chief Brand Officer. These appointments underscore Skims’ commitment to innovation and brand growth.
The new leadership roles come at a crucial time as Skims continues to expand its global presence and product offerings. With a focus on design and brand storytelling, these changes are set to shape the future of the company.
Erin Magee Joins Skims as Chief Design Officer
Erin Magee brings a wealth of experience to her new role at Skims. Most recently, she served as the Chief Creative Officer at Supreme, where she led creative vision, design, product development, and product strategy for over two decades. Magee’s tenure at Supreme spanned 22 years, during which she played a pivotal role in shaping the brand’s identity and cultural impact.
Prior to her time at Supreme, Magee founded MadeMe in 2007, a women’s brand known for its emphasis on individuality and youth culture. Her ability to connect with audiences and build resonant brands has earned her widespread recognition in the fashion industry.
Kardashian expressed her admiration for Magee’s work, highlighting her strong design point of view and deep understanding of audience connection. ‘She understands what it means to build something that truly resonates,’ Kardashian said. Grede echoed these sentiments, noting Magee’s unparalleled creative vision and ability to build brands that transcend fashion.
In her new role, Magee will oversee design and creative product direction, helping to push the creative boundaries of Skims and create products that resonate with consumers. ‘SKIMS has done something rare: built a brand that is both deeply personal and universal,’ Magee commented. ‘I look forward to working alongside this talented team to shape what comes next.’
Kim Schraub Promoted to Chief Brand Officer
Kim Schraub, who has been with Skims since its inception, has been promoted to Chief Brand Officer. Schraub’s journey with Skims began before the brand’s official launch, and she has played a crucial role in shaping its creative direction. Her extensive experience in the fashion industry, including stints at Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, and Victoria’s Secret Pink, has been instrumental in Skims’ success.
In her new role, Schraub will oversee the brand’s presence across retail, campaigns, collaborations, and storytelling. She will also take on a broader leadership role, shaping how Skims looks, feels, and resonates across every touchpoint. Kardashian praised Schraub’s creative instincts and the enormous impact she has had on the brand. ‘Her creative instincts have helped shape everything about how Skims shows up in the world,’ Kardashian said.
Grede added that Schraub’s promotion is a natural evolution of the creative leadership she has always provided. ‘She has an extraordinary ability to translate the essence of Skims into something you can see and feel,’ Grede noted.
Expanding Skims’ Global Footprint
These leadership changes come as Skims continues to expand its global presence. The brand recently announced plans to open a second UK store at Westfield London (White City), set to open in 2027. This follows the highly anticipated opening of Skims’ first UK flagship store at 245-247 Regent Street, which offers the full Skims product range, including shapewear, underwear, loungewear, menswear, and accessories.
The new leadership team is poised to drive Skims’ growth and innovation, ensuring the brand remains at the forefront of the fashion industry. With Magee’s design expertise and Schraub’s creative vision, Skims is well-positioned to continue its success and expand its influence globally.
