Pininfarina, the legendary Italian design house, has made its first foray into single-family homes with the Collection Sei Design launched at Monterey Car Week 2026. Under the leadership of CEO Paolo Dellachà Pininfarina has expanded its portfolio from automotive and industrial design to residential architecture, creating a unique blend of elegance and functionality.
The Collection Sei Design is a collaboration with luxury homebuilder Manny Angelo Varas and MV Group USA. Each of the six fully furnished estate designs is a complete package, designed, built, furnished, and decorated by Pininfarina. The only requirement is a plot of land measuring at least 20,000 sq ft.
The Collection Sei Design: A Symphony of Style and Substance
Overseen by Pininfarina’s chief architectural officer Samuele Sordi each villa in the Collection Sei Design is unique yet shares a common aesthetic. The designs feature curved balconiescovered terraces and sliding screens creating a harmonious blend of indoor and outdoor living spaces. The villas measure around 8,000 sq ft and are intended to appeal to those who appreciate the bespoke process, whether in a house, a car, or a yacht.
The initial renders showcase the houses in various locations, with the Miami-adjacent plots standing out. The curved balconies complement the coastal setting, making them an ideal foil for superyachts and supercars alike. Each property is offered at a turnkey cost of $16,950,000, excluding the price of the land.
Celebrating 60 Years of Iconic Design
Dellachà tied the launch of the Collection Sei Design to the 60th anniversary of the Alfa Romeo Duetto one of Pininfarina’s most iconic designs. ‘We are proud to unveil this remarkable project as we celebrate the anniversary of the Duetto, one of Alfa Romeo’s most iconic cars, a timeless symbol that has inspired generations of Americans,’ Dellachà said. The Collection Sei Design embodies the same vision, combining timeless design with exceptional craftsmanship.
Sordi describes the project as ‘not simply a luxury home, but a collectable residence – one that elevates the rituals of everyday life.’ The villas deploy familiar architectural tropes such as ‘dissolving the boundaries between architecture and landscape,’ creating a seamless blend of living spaces and natural surroundings.
La Casa Olive e Capperi: A Masterpiece of Minimalism
In a different corner of the design world, architect Valentina Autiero has transformed a compact home in an olive grove on the Sorrento Peninsula into a sanctuary that celebrates the art of living slowly. La Casa Olive e Capperi, measuring just 484 square feet, embraces a bold and articulate design philosophy that focuses on simplicity and natural rhythm.
Autiero’s redesign respects the original architecture, turning existing limitations into creative design features. The home is divided into two primary zones by structural walls, one with a vaulted ceiling and the other with a sloping ceiling. The strategic design utilizes the existing floor plan to weave a new spatial story, creating a fluid arrangement of spaces devoted to different daily activities.
The core of the home is a living area that boasts a stunning sea view, designed to foster connectivity and intimate discussions.
