During the renovation, he insisted on removing protective plastic from the newly installed oak floors, allowing builders to work in muddy boots. French doors open onto simple gardens and wildflower meadows that slope toward a picturesque brook, offering a serene connection to the natural surroundings. Much of the carefully assembled furniture is available separately, allowing the next owner to preserve the designer’s original vision.
