The apartment in question, located on via Filippo Turati, was advertised exclusively to pairs of female students who did not smoke. Despite being described as newly renovated with 1900s vaulted ceilings, the photographs revealed a starkly different reality. The space was clearly a converted basement, featuring small ‘bocca di lupo’ windows in most rooms and a windowless bathroom, creating a dim and uninviting atmosphere.

The listing quickly gained attention on Facebook, particularly on the ‘Sei di Bologna se’ page, where users expressed their dismay. Comments ranged from ‘You should be ashamed to rent out a cellar at that price’ to ‘You should be reported’. Many questioned how such a space could legally be considered habitable.
The controversy deepened when it was pointed out that the area had suffered repeated flooding in recent years, with the Ravone stream frequently overflowing. One widely shared comment asked, ‘Are you renting out a cellar for 1200 euros in an area where the Ravone has flooded time and again?’
The rapid removal of the listing
